Open Water

The minimum age to learn to dive is 15 years old. From age 15 years, the normal Open Water Certification applies. There is no maximum age limit!
Requirements

Basic swimming skills and satisfactory the completion of a pool swim of 200m and then a 10 minute tread water.
Everyone attending a dive course will also need to present a completed medical form. Please consult your GP if you may any medical issues, check the Scuba Medicals page for forms.

Content

  • 5 theory sessions (Monday and Wednesday, 7-9pm)
  • 1 pool session at the Clarence Pool (Saturday, 10am-1pm)
  • 2 local shore dives at Crayfish Point, Taroona (Sunday, 9am-2pm)
  • 1 weekend away in Orford (Saturday and Sunday)
  • 2 shore dives in Okehampton
  • 2 boat dives at Maria Island
